Privacy

Short version: no account, no email, no tracking cookies. The public pages show one labelled banner ad (see Advertising); Deal Folder pages show none. What you type is not saved to any folder or account unless you save it to a Deal Folder; the calculators' numbers do pass through the server's access log, as explained below.

What is kept

• The Cost Sheet and Offer Reader run on the numbers in the page address. They are not stored. Like every web server, ours writes the addresses it serves (which include those numbers) and your IP address to its access log, which the hosting server keeps for a limited time.
• A Deal Folder keeps what you saved, its name and the dates it was made, changed and last opened. Its private key is never stored: only a one-way hash of it. Your browser keeps the key in a cookie that only this site can read.
• Daily limits keep a one-way hash of your IP address with a count for the day, deleted after 3 days.

What is never collected

No names, emails, phone numbers, card numbers or locations (the ad network's rough city lookup is explained under Advertising). No analytics services. Fonts, scripts and styles all come from this site; the only outside service any page loads is the banner from adengine.us on the public pages, described under Advertising. It also counts one page view per page as a daily total.

Advertising

The public pages of Yearsticker (home, Cost Sheet, Offer Reader, How it works and Pricing) show one banner ad from AdEngine (adengine.us), the small ad network run by WeldonPC, the company behind this site. For now the ads are for WeldonPC's own services. Deal Folder pages, this page, the terms and error pages show no ad. The ad sits below the page and never changes a number.

To show an ad, your browser loads a script from adengine.us, asks it for one banner, loads the banner image, and reports once that the page was viewed and once that the banner was shown. Like any website, adengine.us receives your IP address, your browser type and the address of this site with those requests. It gets only the site's address, not the page address with your numbers in it.

• No cookies, no profile. AdEngine sets no cookies, gives you no ID and does not track you from site to site.
• How your IP address is used. adengine.us looks up the approximate city for your IP address in a location database kept on its own server (nothing is sent to anyone else), so that ads meant for one area are shown only there. It also uses the address to count each ad view or click only once and to leave out robots and WeldonPC's own office traffic. The address is not stored with the counts; the temporary entries made from it expire within six hours and are cleared from the server within two days.
• What is kept. Daily totals only: page views for this site, and views and clicks for each ad. The adengine.us web server also keeps a standard access log (IP address, time, address requested, referring site, browser) for security; it is deleted on a rolling schedule.
• Clicking an ad passes through adengine.us, which counts the click, and then opens the advertiser's site, which has its own privacy policy.
• Nothing about you is sold or shared.

Deleting

Delete a folder from the folder itself (type delete to confirm). Folders not opened for 400 days are deleted automatically. Nightly database backups are deleted after 14 days.

Payments (later)

When paying opens, PayPal handles the payment. This site will keep only the subscription reference, plan and paid-until date, linked to the folder.
